Industrial activities generate a variety of pollutants in environment, most of which are not susceptible for natural degradation. Rising concentration of such contaminants greatly affects the nature. Thus inadequate waste management of major industries causes a challenge to the environmental sustainability. Apart from the in-plant control steps, numerous industries are not complying with the minimal standards for effluent discharge, stack emission and solid waste disposal. Under this scenario, various advanced technologies need to be developed which will ensure effective waste management practice towards optimum liquid and solid waste discharge. The conference creates an effective forum for environmental scientists, engineers, technologists and industry professionals for sharing research initiatives and real-life experience.
